Board game Marrakech is an excellent example of an educational/family game.

In the city of Marrakech, players strive to sell the most rugs by forcing other players to land on their rugs with the "buyer," all in an effort to earn the most money from sales.
Players share a common figure—the "buyer"—who moves each turn, controlled by the player whose turn it is. The player decides which direction the buyer will move, with a small restriction (the figure cannot turn 180 degrees). The number of spaces the buyer moves is determined by rolling a die (from 1 to 3 spaces). After moving the buyer, the player may place their rug around him. But be careful! If the buyer lands on an opponent's rug, you must pay compensation to your opponent. However, after that, you get to place your rug and can block your opponent by overlapping half of their rug with yours. Overlaps will continue during the game, and the rugs will pile up on the board. The game ends when all players have placed their last rugs in the final round. When this happens, the counting begins, and the player with the most money wins.
