Board game Squadro mini is a challenging abstract strategy game with simple rules, crafted from high-quality wood. This latest addition to Gigamic’s modern abstract strategy classics requires players to be the first to move at least four of their five pieces across the board and back to their starting positions to claim victory. But beware—blocking your opponent not only risks sending your piece back to its base but could also grant them bonus moves!
In this game, each player starts with five pieces in their base on their side of the board. Players take turns moving a piece according to the number of spaces indicated next to the starting base. When a piece reaches the opposite end of the board, it turns to face its starting base and begins its journey back. If your destination is occupied by an opponent's piece, you skip over it and stop at the next open space. The jumped piece is then sent back to its last base, and your piece earns an extra move of one additional space.
While it may seem risky to move any of your pieces forward—making them vulnerable to being sent back—it’s often advantageous. Moving your pieces can reduce your opponent’s possible actions while giving you additional moves. So don’t be afraid to place your pieces in challenging positions; it could work in your favor!
