The selection of the Aztec High Priest is imminent. To prove their worth and merit, the candidates embark on a race for prestige to win the favor of the gods. Will you be able to create the most beautiful sculptures of feathered serpents (called Coatl) to stand out and gain access to the esteemed title of High Priest?
The board game Coatl engages players in working to build the most beautiful and valuable Quetzalcoatl. The serpents, or Coatl, are made from a head, numerous body tiles, and a tail, with each tile made from bulky, colorful plastic in various shades. On a turn, players will either take tiles from the central board and place them on their personal board, or they will work on building one of their Coatl with the various tiles they have collected. The tiles come in various colors, so the Coatl can also be of different colors (patterns), but to gain more favor (points), we must build them according to the pattern cards that will dictate how they should best look. If we fulfill more cards, we score more points.
The problem is that you are not the only one trying to do this, so tiles disappear before your eyes, and your dreams of the most beautiful Coatl fall apart.
The game ends when one player finishes their third Coatl or if you run out of building parts. Players score points for fulfilling objectives, and the one with the most points will be called the High Priest!
