Rats in the old junkyard have been telling each other the great legend of the Moon made of cheese for generations and desire nothing more than to get to this inexhaustible treasure. One day, the rat children discovered a comic book on the junkyard depicting the first moon landing, and thus a plan was born: Build a rocket and claim the cheese moon!
The board game First Rat tasks you with scoring the most points to win. To achieve this, you are compelled to collect resources like cheese, cans, apples, and various other scraps. But if you are on the same space as your fellow rat player, you will have to pay them—with cheese! Also, collect as many light bulbs as possible, as more light will make it easier for you to find more things. You have the freedom to steal, spend resources at the store to buy, for example, a backpack. When a player places their fourth rat on the spaceship—or places their eighth scoring marker on the board—the game ends, and the player with the most points wins.
Fortunately, the aforementioned junkyard has everything you and your rat friends need to build your rocket, and other animals are ready to support this bold undertaking—at least if they are well paid. Of course, all the rats are working together to achieve this mighty goal. However, each rat family is competing to build as many rocket parts as possible and to train the largest number of rats so they can enjoy the most lunar cheese!
