Animals from all over the world are gathering for a hula-hoop championship. Their goal is to keep the hoop moving for as long as possible.

This gathering is represented through cards. The goal of the board game Hula Hoo is to get rid of all your cards or force the other players to give up ("drop their hoop"). Each player starts with five cards in their hand and five cards face up in front of them. When it's their turn, they can choose to play one of the face-up cards or one from their hand. The first player plays any card and requires the next player to play a "higher" or "lower" card. A player can meet this requirement or "duplicate"—play the same card as the previous player. Then, everyone must duplicate (or break the duplicate with an adjacent card or a wild card). A player who cannot play is out of the round and "drops the hoop."

When only one player remains or when one player is out of cards, that player receives as many cards as were played in that round. The first player to reach 77 points wins the game.
