The board game Magician's Maze provides you and your teammates with an opportunity to help Linus navigate through a dark forest and collect thirteen items before time runs out. The playing space consists of two levels. On the ground floor, you have the game board with plastic ridges that create obstacles to movement. As you progress in the game, you can add fences to the game board to create additional obstacles. One player will move the young magician, Linus, across this board. But Linus must travel with a star above his head so that he can find these items in the dark. The second level of the game is a plastic sheet that forms the sky. The other player will control a "magic button" that holds the star, which is attached to Linus, in the sky and prevents it from falling.
On a turn, reveal a Route card; three spaces on it have targets, and the other three spaces will be filled with revealed chips. After discussing how they want to move and starting the electronic timer, the two players move Linus and the star from one target to the next until they visit all six targets or until time runs out. If the star ever falls because the players move in different directions, the players must first raise the star again before moving. Place each chip you reached into the slots on the timer and return any unreached target chips face down to the supply. If you claim all thirteen targets by the end of twelve rounds of the game, you win!
