Quoridor Junior is essentially the family board game Quoridor, but visually adapted to capture the attention of even the youngest players and get them interested in playing. A squirrel, a frog, a kitty, and a rabbit in four colors race across the board while battling obstacles that other players will place throughout the game—enough to ensure suspense from beginning to end.
Quoridor Junior is an educational, strategic game for two to four players, for preschoolers as well as older children, for the whole family. Each player has their own animal token in a specific color. The goal for each player is to reach the opposing side of the board and be the first to do so. In addition to their animal tokens, players also have obstacles that they can use to try and redirect other players, thus extending their path to victory. However, players must choose what to do on each turn, as they can only pick one of two options: either extend another player's path or move their own piece closer to victory. For this reason, it's extremely important when to use which move. Players also need to be careful where they place their obstacles, as these obstacles can backfire later in the game because they apply to everyone, regardless of who placed them. At some point, the obstacles will create a labyrinth (corridor), and the first player to pass through it and reach the opposing side wins. It sounds easy, but despite the extremely simple rules, the game itself will be a real challenge. Children will absorb your every move and quickly show you what they've learned.
