The board game Bang! casts players into the Wild West in one of the game's various roles, hoping they can somehow hold their own and survive!
You might be the Sheriff or a Deputy; perhaps you’ll find yourself on the other side of the law as an Outlaw or even a Renegade. Regardless of which role you draw, it is up to you to fulfill it and strive toward your goal until your very last breath.
The Sheriff strives to stay alive because everyone is out to get him; the Deputies try to protect the Sheriff, and the Outlaws attempt to kill him. Meanwhile, the Renegade’s goal is to be the last person standing with the Sheriff so they can face off one-on-one at the end. The catch, however, is that all roles except for the Sheriff are kept secret. While we all know who the Sheriff is, no one else reveals themselves—at least not with words! Once a bullet flies toward the Sheriff, the roles become quite clear. That is exactly why that shot must be timed perfectly. Otherwise, the player who shot at the Sheriff will quickly find themselves targeted by several players—both those truly serving the law and those simply trying to mask their true intentions. Keep your wits about you and pack plenty of heat before you get bold. In the meantime, your best bet is to spread misinformation and muddy the waters.
In addition to their roles, each player receives a Wild West character to represent them throughout the game, allowing them to utilize specific special abilities (or lack thereof). Everything else comes down to shooting, identifying allies and enemies, and "settling scores" with them.
The board game Bang! features a unique shooting and gameplay mechanic. Its simple rules make it excellent for beginners! The game's value shines through its high replayability, meaning players will enjoy it for a long time before feeling the need for a change. Over the years, Bang! has seen several spin-offs: Bang! The Bullet!, Bang! The Duel!, and the Bang! Dice Game.
