Following one of the most popular social party games, Codenames, now comes the Marvel variant, featuring the universe's mightiest heroes!
The board game Codenames Marvel, like other Codenames games, divides players into two teams—Red and Blue. Each team chooses its Spymaster who will give clues to their team. The Spymasters choose one of the key cards and use it to set up the board with illustration cards in a 5x5 grid. The key card marks the agents of the Red and Blue teams. The Spymasters must use one word and a number to explain to their teammates which illustrations cover their agents.
Players must be careful because the Assassin is also on the board. The Spymasters know which illustration the Assassin is under, so they must avoid clues that would cause their team to make a mistake. If one of the teams finds the Assassin, then the entire team immediately loses the game. Using imagination, the Spymasters must figure out how to connect multiple concepts with one clue so that their teammates can find the hidden agents as quickly as possible. The first team to successfully do so wins.
This excellent board game for 4 to 8 players in two teams can also be played with an odd number of people, as well as in a 2-player variant.
