Players compete in two teams in board game Decrypto (Kriptograf in Serbian), with each team trying to correctly interpret the encrypted messages presented by their teammates while intercepting and deciphering the opposing team’s codes.

In detail, each team has its own screen, into which four cards are placed in numbered slots 1-4. These words are visible to all members of the same team but hidden from the opposing team. In the first round, each team does the following: one team member receives a code consisting of three numbers (1-4) in a specific order, e.g., 4-2-1.
They then give an encrypted message that their teammates must use to guess this code. For example, if the team’s four words are "scorpion," "bone," "sun," and "dream," the player might say "night - dog - horoscope," hoping their teammates will correctly map these words to 4-2-1. If they guess correctly, great; if not, the team receives a black mark of failure.
Starting in the second round, a member of each team must again give clues corresponding to their numbered code. If they receive 2-4-3, they might now say, "drumstick - light - tail." The opposing team then tries to guess the numerical code. If they guess correctly, they receive a white mark of success; if not, the original team must correctly guess their code or take another black mark of failure. (Guessing correctly doesn’t directly grant a win but helps avoid failure while giving the opposing team hints about the hidden words.)
The game continues until a team collects either their second white mark (winning the game) or their second black mark (losing the game). Games typically last 4-7 rounds. If neither team wins after eight rounds, both teams attempt to guess the other team’s words; the team with more correct guesses wins.
