Your team and you take on the role of a group of adventurers eager for glory, who have ventured into dark caves filled with dangerous traps, all with one goal: to successfully reach the final chamber, defeat the fearsome monster hiding there, and emerge immortalized as champions. And all this through a word-association game.

Board game Trapwords (in Serbian) is a variation of word-association games, but in a new and much more entertaining way. Players are divided into two teams, and the number of players doesn’t matter—whether it’s even or odd. Teams choose a player who will explain a word to the rest of their team, a word chosen by the opposing team from a possible 800 words. The chosen player rotates after each round so everyone gets a chance to help their team.
Sounds simple?! It might be, if the explaining player didn’t have to be cautious about how they associate. The opposing team has created a list of "trap words" that can’t be used, but the explaining player doesn’t know what they are.
And that alone would be complicated enough, but – there’s always a but – things get even trickier when a "curse" occurs! Not only must the player explain the word "indirectly," but they might also have to do it in one breath (Flood curse), repeat the end of every word (Echo curse), or use only nouns (Dumbing Down curse), or... You get the idea where this is heading...
On top of that, you’re limited to just 30 seconds, and the hourglass timer only adds to the tension. This fast-paced game is one of our top recommendations for 4+ players.
