Abyss is a game of development, combination, and collection, where each player builds their influence across three key levels. First, players gather allies from different underwater factions. These allies are then used to recruit Lords—cards with powerful abilities that can shift the tides of the game. Finally, those Lords open access to key locations in the city, which provide points and new strategic opportunities.
The game features a draft-style card selection system, where timing is everything. Choose carefully when to take what you need—or let others make mistakes. Lords grant you powers while in your service, but once you use them to acquire a location, those powers are lost. So, the decision of when to claim territory can make or break your path to victory.
