In the board game Gaia Project, fourteen different factions live on seven distinct types of planets. Each faction is bound to its own home planet, so to develop and grow, they must terraform neighboring planets into their home environments while competing with other groups. Additionally, Gaia planets can be used by all factions for colonization, and all other planets can be transformed into Gaia planets.
All factions can improve their skills in six different areas of development—Terraforming, Navigation, Artificial Intelligence, Gaiaforming, Economy, and Research—leading them to advanced technology and special bonuses. To achieve all this, each group possesses unique skills and abilities.
