During the reign of Emperor Yao, the people of ancient China suffered constantly from deadly floods along the Yellow River. Seeking to end the destruction, Yao appointed Gun, one of his officials, to devise a plan. After nine years of unsuccessful attempts using dams and levees, Gun's tenure came to a questionable end. Following his death, Yu inherited his father's work. Learning from Gun's failures, Yu set out to build a series of canals to direct the surging river into nearby fields and smaller waterways.
Legacy of Yu is a solo, non-linear board game in which you take on the role of the legendary hero of the Xia Dynasty, Yu the Great. Your task will be to build canals ahead of the impending flood, while simultaneously defending your growing village against neighboring barbarian tribes. With each game, stories will be shared and new gameplay elements will be added. The campaign features a self-balancing system that adjusts based on your performance. The campaign ends once you have either won or lost seven games, after which it can be played again! Are you ready to protect your village and become a hero?
