Welcome to Waterdeep, the City of Splendors—the most resplendent jewel in the Forgotten Realms, and a notorious den of political intrigue, secret alliances, and shady back-alley dealings.
In Lords of Waterdeep, an award-winning strategy board game for 2–5 players, you don't play as the typical adventurers. Instead, you take on the role of one of the masked Lords of Waterdeep, the secret rulers of the metropolis. From the safety of the shadows, you will pull the strings of the entire city to expand your influence and claim ultimate control.
Use a classic, tense worker-placement mechanic to send your agents throughout the city. Recruit Clerics, Fighters, Rogues, and Wizards to form the ultimate party. Send your recruited adventurers on dangerous missions on your behalf to earn massive rewards, dynamic abilities, and vital Victory Points. Purchase and construct new buildings to add completely new action spaces to the board. Even better—whenever your rivals use a building you own, you reap the benefits and resources! Play powerful Intrigue Cards to enact your carefully laid plans, boost your production, or directly hinder your opponents' progress.
Over the course of 8 intense rounds, you will accumulate points through quests, architecture, and political maneuvering. When the final round concludes, the masked Lords reveal their true identities, and the player with the most points is crowned the true ruler of Waterdeep!
