This expansion introduces a completely new resource—Gloom. This darkness symbolizes the Witch's symbiotic relationship with the land itself and grants her powerful benefits as long as it remains in play. Through new Gloom-cards, you spread corruption, increase the levels of darkness, and break the natural limits of power to ensure the success of your ritual. The more Gloom there is on the board, the more difficult your investigation becomes. You must learn to manage these new threats before the forest swallows you whole.
Beyond the Palisades does not just change the rules; it changes how you view the nine suspicious villagers. While the Witch brews potions and improves her familiars using the power of Gloom, the Hunter must enlist new allies and ruthlessly investigate every corner of the cleansed locations.
