The board game Western Legends: A Fistful of Extras is an expansion for the already popular board game Western Legends, bringing a new dimension to this open-world tabletop adventure experience for 2–6 players set in the American Wild West. This expansion contains all the unlocked content from the 2018 Kickstarter campaign, including six new characters, new character miniatures, more items, stories, and much more.
The expansion adds interesting new characters such as Pearl Hart and Allan Pinkerton, as well as new weapon cards, horses, bandits, items, poker cards, and stories, along with additional miniatures that can be used as new bandits. These changes do not drastically alter the game; instead, they complement what is already great about the original game by adding more variability. The biggest change is the bandit cards, which introduce a new way of fighting bandits. This includes stickers added to the bases of six bandits—now, when you encounter a bandit, you flip a card. Depending on the number on the bandit's base, different outcomes can occur, such as losing $30 if you lose the fight or gaining one Legendary Point (victory point) if you defeat the bandit. This adds more incentive to fight bandits due to the uncertainty and the possibility of gaining a bit more or losing something, though nothing too drastic.
This expansion introduces intriguing new characters, additional miniatures of the same quality as the originals, and much more replayability. It is considered an essential addition for any fan of Western Legends.
