Today, museums are practically extinct, as savvy investors have transformed those initial dinosaur sanctuaries into bustling theme parks—true meccas for dinosaur lovers across the globe.
The board game Dinosaur Island puts you in the role of a park manager at one of these premier destinations. You have been handed the reins of this growing operation: bring fantastic creatures from the Jurassic, Triassic, and Cretaceous periods into the modern age. Early retirement is within reach—you just have to make your park bigger and better than the competition.
However, it won’t be a walk in the park. You will need to hire the right staff, beat your competitors by perfecting "dino-recipes," and gamble on which attractions will draw the most visitors. And of course, everything will come crashing down if your safety precautions aren't sturdy enough to keep your unruly dinosaur population under control. Sometimes you won't have enough resources for everything, so you’ll have to choose between certain things like a new rollercoaster or a stronger fence. I mean, who even needs a stronger fence for a T-Rex, anyway? :)
