All around the globe, an ancient evil has begun to spread. The Ancient Ones and their minions are appearing everywhere. You and your colleagues are the only chance for the planet’s survival. You must travel to various locations and solve mysteries, gathering clues along the way that will help you confront the Ancient Ones.
The board game Eldritch Horror is a cooperative game of horror and adventure in which one to eight players take on the roles of investigators who, by gathering clues, work to solve mysteries to protect the world from an Ancient One—an evil being intent on destroying the planet. Each Ancient One comes with a unique deck of Mystery and Research cards, which draw you deeper into the lore of each creature. While the tasks on the Mystery cards often dictate your travel plans and the dangers you will face, you can find adventure anywhere in the world, even in the places you least expect.
During the Encounter Phase, players will engage in combat or resolve an event. If you fail to resolve an event successfully, the price is high. If you are lucky, you will only suffer physical or mental trauma. However, you might also stumble upon a Condition card, such as a Broken Leg or Amnesia. This will hinder your efforts as the Ancient One draws closer. Its evil influence is manifested when you draw Mythos cards, which open gates to other worlds and spawn unimaginable monsters and other elements. Mythos cards keep players under constant pressure, and since players draw one every turn, they will have their hands full. With 12 unique investigators and 300 cards, Eldritch Horror represents an epic adventure.
