The board game Gloomhaven: Buttons & Bugs is a solo adventure set in the world of Gloomhaven that follows the story after the events of the core game and the Forgotten Circles expansion. The Aesther Seer, Hail, has gained a reputation as a very brave character in saving the city from various disasters, and she absolutely hates it. Heroes constantly seek out and question her studies, looking for a way to become famous themselves, and besides them, demons are coming seeking revenge. You will have the opportunity to be one of these heroes, in a reckless attempt to achieve fame and become Hail. Each scenario is a single card, pitting one mercenary against a handful of enemies with simplified actions. Each mercenary has a hand of only four double-sided cards, but they can be used twice—both front and back—before being discarded. Attacks are resolved using a die combined with a modifier table, and both the table and the mercenary ability cards can be improved as you advance through the campaign.
