The board game Mice and Mystics is a cooperative game where players are nobles who have been transformed into mice by the evil witch Vanestra. Players are given a scenario book where the story itself introduces the events and obstacles that stand in the way of the small heroes. However, just because the players have been miniaturized doesn't mean they're helpless. Each mouse has its own abilities and weapons, and in the style of a true RPG, you'll find better equipment and treasures (or in this case, cheese) along the way. The equipment is also proportionally designed: a mouse's shield is actually a shirt button, a rapier is a sewing needle, and so on.
According to the scenario, the mice move through modular board tiles that illustrate the underground environment, but they can also come to the surface and explore simply by flipping over the tile they are on. Danger lurks around every corner as the mice will encounter dangerous rats, cockroaches, and spiders. The mice must work together to overcome obstacles and stop Vanestra in her plan.
