The board game Pandemic: The Cure is a dice-based version of the popular board game Pandemic. Just like in the original game, four diseases threaten the world, and it is up to you and your team to save humanity. You and your team must keep global hotspots under control before they spiral out of hand, while simultaneously researching cures for the four plagues.
Players roll dice each turn to determine their available actions. They can fly or sail between the world's six major population centers, treat diseases in their current region, collect samples for further research, and exchange knowledge to help them in their goal of discovering cures. Each player takes on a different role that comes with its own unique set of dice and abilities. Players must leverage these special abilities if they hope to have any chance of winning the game. The Dispatcher, for example, can use dice to move others across the board, while the Medic is particularly skilled at treating diseases. Players can reroll their dice as often as they like, but the more times they roll for the perfect move, the higher the probability that the next epidemic will occur.
At the end of each turn, new "infection dice" are rolled to determine the type and location of newly infected populations. If any region on the board is infected with more than three dice of the same color, an outbreak occurs, spreading the disease to an adjacent region. If too many outbreaks occur, too many people become infected, or the infection rate becomes too high, all players lose. However, if the players can discover the cures for all four diseases, everyone wins and humanity is saved!
