Your team and you are in the role of a group of adventurers who, eager for glory, have entered dark caves full of dangerous traps with one goal: to successfully reach the final room, defeat the terrifying monster hiding there, and emerge immortalized by the glory of victory. And all this through a game of associations.
The board game Trapwords is a variation of the association game, but in a new and much more fun way. Players are divided into two teams, and it doesn't matter how many players there are, whether the number is even or odd. The teams choose a player who will explain a word given to them by the opposing team to the rest of their group, from a pool of 800 possible words. That player is replaced after each explanation, so everyone will have a chance to help their team. Sounds simple? It might be simple if the player explaining didn't have to be careful about the words they use. Namely, the opposing team has compiled a certain number of forbidden words that cannot be used, but the problem is that the explaining player doesn't know what these words are. This would be complicated enough on its own, but there's always a "but"—it gets even more complicated when a "curse" happens! Now, not only does the player have to explain the given word in a roundabout way, but they also have to do it in one breath (the Flood curse), or they will have to repeat the end of every word (the Echo curse), or they will have to use only nouns while explaining (the Stupidity curse)... I think you get the idea. And then you are also limited to only 30 seconds, and the hourglass only adds to the tension.
The game is characterized by fast gameplay and great uncertainty, which is why it's one of our top recommendations for 4+ players.
