Borrowing game mechanics from Descent and infusing the theme of Tolkien's most famous masterpiece, the board game The Lord of the Rings Journeys in Middle-Earth feels like the perfect blend of adventurous strategy. On their journeys, the Fellowship will encounter tough obstacles as they battle powerful enemies, uncover lost treasures and forgotten lore, and hone their skills based on their chosen roles. As the forces of darkness unite evil, shadows, and corruption, it is up to our heroes to make a stand and set out on a journey into Middle-earth.
Each smaller episode in this board game is a standalone adventure within a grand campaign. In every episode, the players' goal is to complete as many quests as possible before the forces of evil overwhelm them. Regardless of the outcome of a specific episode, the heroes and the campaign progress from one scenario to the next, carrying over everything they have found and learned. Ultimately, after completing multiple episodes, the campaign will reach its climax, and in the final epic chapter, the Fellowship will have the opportunity to defeat the forces of evil.
This is a fully cooperative board game in which players form a fellowship ready for new adventures, aiming to explore and survive the vast and epic world of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.
